Client Access Configuration on the Server

Step 1 - Use the EFS Mobile Client Configuration tool

Launch Client Configuration from your programs menu on the server. This allows you to setup client access to various services on your network

Install EFS Mobile Client Software

Step 1 - Install the Blackberry Client Software

Option 1 - Desktop installation

Download the BlackberrySoftware.zip file. Unzip the files to a temporary location. Read and accept the license terms in the license.txt file. Launch the Blackberry Desktop Software Application loader. Choose to add a new application and browse to the efsmobile.alx file to install. If you are using EFS Mobile with Microsoft Exchange, install efsmobileruntime.alx as well.

Option 2 - Over the air installation

Using your Blackberry browser, navigate to http://m.efsi.ca/ and click the link "Install Blackberry Client" once you have read and agreed to the license terms.

Option 3 - Enterprise installation using the Blackberry Enterprise Server

Download the BlackberrySoftware.zip file. Read and accept the license terms in the license.txt file. Follow the deployment procedure found in the document Deploying Java Applications: Application deployment using the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and Application Control

Step 2 - Login

Log either into a domain account or into a server local user account.

E-Mail Enter your e-mail address to be used as your 'from' address.
Username Enter your domain username. Make sure you include the domain suffix (i.e. username@domain.local) or machine prefix (MYMACHINE\username).
Password Enter your domain password.
Url Enter the url where the server is installed. Depending on your setup (i.e. access over the Internet or via MDS) you may need to use an IP address or a fully qualified DNS name. The trailing slash / on the URL IS REQUIRED.
Parameters This is an advanced setting that allows you to configure how to connect. The default (blank) setting uses the MDS services if available then falls back to the Blackberry Internet Service if MDS is unavailable. If using the Blackberry Internet Service instead of MDS, make sure to add your APN settings (i.e. ;apn=internet.com) as specified by your wireless provider. Profile Name You can change the current profile name here.
Select Profile If you have more than one profile configured, select the profile from this list. To add a new profile, select "Add Profile" from the menu.
