System Requirements

  • Server: 300MB free disk space on Windows XP, 2003, Vista, or 2008
  • Client: Blackberry OS4.2 (Pearl) or better Smart Phone
  • Internet connection
  • Optional: Blackberry Enterprise Server with MDS
  • Optional: Active Directory

Install Prerequsite Software

Step 1 - Install Open Office 3.1

Navigate to www.openoffice.org download and install Open Office 3.1 on your target server machine.

Step 2 - Install Ghost Script

Click to download Ghost Script 8.63. Unzip to a temporary folder on your target server machine and run gs863w32.exe to install.

Step 3 - Configure IIS on Windows 200x Server

Setup an IIS 6 Web Site on Windows 2003 Server. While other versions of Windows will work (Windows 2000/2008, XP, or Vista) the instructions provided are generally for IIS 6 and Windows 2003 Server.

Ensure the web site is protected by SSL. This ensures privacy of user's credentials transmitted over the wireless network AND the local network.

Step 1 - Install EFS Mobile Server

Click to download SetupEFSMobileServer.msi. Open SetupEFSMobileServer.msi on your target server machine.

Step 2 - Start the EFS Mobile Document Conversion Service

Using the Services MMC Snap-in, ensure the "EFS Document Conversion" service is set to startup type: Automatic. Start the "EFS Document Conversion" service.

Step 3 - Configure client access

Start the client installation and configuration
